Siemens Add SU8200 Compact Power Supply to SITOP Range

Siemens Add SU8200 Compact Power Supply to SITOP Range

Siemens has recently added a compact 24 volt, 40-ampere power supply for industries with high-reliability requirements to its modular SITOP product line for single-phase networks. The SITOP SU8200 contributes toward high system availability by supplying up to three times the rated current for 25 minutes, or 1.5 times the rated current for five seconds per minute in the event of a short-term overload.

With an efficiency level of up to 93%, SITOP SU8200 consumes little energy and generates minimal heat inside the control cabinet. At just 145mm wide, it also saves a huge amount of space on a standard mounting rail. The device has a rugged metal enclosure and a wide-range single-phase input (85 to 132/170 to 264 V AC), with automatic range switchover between 120 V and 230 V AC. The power supply also features an integrated ‘24 V OK’ signalling contact, an output voltage variable from 24 to 28 volts to compensate for voltage drops and an ambient temperature range from -25 to +70°C, as well as UL, CSA, GL, ATEX or IECex international certifications.

Joanne Banks, Product Manager for Micro Automation & SITOP Power Supplies comments: "The new SITOP SU8200 is a robust power solution for the automotive, food, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors, as well as any other industries which have high-reliability requirements. Our SITOP switched-mode power supply units are globally recognised for their ability to cope with critical network conditions; this new compact solution means manufacturers can continue using high-quality products without the need for a large amount of space."
