National Women in Engineering Day 23rd June 2014

National Women in Engineering Day has been set up by the Women's Engineering Society (WES) to celebrate its 95th anniversary. It takes place on 23 June 2014 and it's aim is to celebrate the work that women do in engineering, and to showcase the great engineering careers that are available for girls.

Many young girls are dismissive of the Engineering industry as a whole as it is still widely renowned as a male-led profession. Fortunately, attitudes to women in engineering have changed for the better and many of the UK's leading manufacturers and developers are actively recruiting female apprentices with great success! With so many different career paths falling under the title of 'Engineering', there are a multitude of interesting, rewarding and pioneering careers available to young women in the industry today.
