The Siemens SIPART PS2 electropneumatic positioner is used to regulate the final control element of pneumatic linear or part-turn actuators. The SIPART PS2 electropneumatic positioner moves the actuator to a valve position corresponding to the setpoint. Additional function inputs can be used to block the valve or to set a safety position. A binary input is present as standard in the basic device for this purpose.
Some advantages of using the Siemens Sipart PS2 positioners include:
The Siemens SIPART PS2 electropneumatic positioners control the process valve or damper position of pneumatic linear or part-turn actuators or via positioning cylinder according to the setpoint specification. A digital input can trigger holding of the position or approach of the safety setting of the process valve.
There are a number of different mounting kits available for the linear acuators to suit most valve designs. This allows the positioner to be installed and operated on all common actuator systems.
The Profibus and Fieldbus variants communication allows for the differentiation of the various fault indications, as well as a trend representation and histogram function showing all key process variables with regards to the valve.
The SIPART PS2 comes with an extensive range of diagnostic functions for process valve and actuators. Some of the functions include full stroke tests, multi step response test, valver performance tests and partial stroke tests.
