New WRAS Approved product range from Bürkert

In the UK, all water Valves & fittings that transfer water to and from the public mains supply must comply with specific regulations; these requirements are designed to reduce water waste, and prevent the contamination of public water.
WRAS approval is the most easily recognisable way to ensure that the valves you choose to use are compliant. Bürkert’s range of Solenoid valves which use WRAS approved materials can help you to ensure that you meet your legal obligations.

What does the law say?

Water Supply Regulations, and Scottish Byelaws say that water valves & fittings should not cause waste, misuse, undue consumption or contamination of the public water supply.
Water valves must also achieve an appropriate quality standard.
These laws apply to all valves that carry or receive water from the public mains supply.

What is WRAS approval?

WRAS approval demonstrates compliance with the law. Approval is granted by the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS).
The road to achieving WRAS approval is a rigorous one. BS6920 material testing is used to verify that the material or component in question does not cause water contamination.
