MIDLAND ACS OPD SILSAVE SYSTEM - OVER PRESSURISATION DEVICE STEMSAVER
The purpose of the OPD Silsave system is to serve as a preventative pressure sensitive device, designed to prevent the downstream system receiving an unscheduled increase in supply pressure thus causing potential damage and downtime.
Should an increase in supply pressure be sensed, within 30 milli-seconds the device will automatically fail-safe and lock the downstream pressure at the secondary preset trip pressure level. Thereby eliminating the potential damage occuring from increased torque or thrust values.
On over pressurisation of the outlet due to failure of the regulator, the valve will be triggered to shut-off the outlet and either vent the downstream pressure or trap it. The choice is made by leaving the exhaust port of the valve open or plugged. Once the fault on the regulator has been corrected the unit is reset by pushing the button on the underside which resets the unit. Models also available with air pilot operators or proximity switches to indicate the triggered position. In line with todays requirements for space saving and efficiency the system is all close coupled within a common body.
