MASS FLOW METERS
As the Premier Partner to Burkert Fluid Control Systems we offer an extensive range of flow meters for liquid duty. When measuring the flow rate of gases we offer a range of mass flow meters and mass flow controllers.
Mass flow meters are used in Process Technology for the direct measurement of the mass flow of gases. In case of volumetric flow meters, it is necessary to measure the temperature and the pressure either the density, because gases change their density or rather their volume depending on the pressure.
Using mass flow meters the actual flow rate is detected by a sensor operating
according to a thermal principle which has the advantage of delivering the
mass flow without any corrections for pressure or temperature being needed.
This allows the mass flow meter to provide a reliable and accurate measurement.
Digital Mass Flow Meters
We offer the type 8006 mass flow meters and the type 8702 mass flow meters. These digital mass flow meters use an inline sensor based on the thermal principle located directly in the main channel of the mass flow meter. Due to the sensor being directly in the main channel of the mass flow meter a very fast response time of the MFM is reached. Another benefit of this main stream measurement is that it is less sensitive to contamination. The actual flow is given as an analog output signal or could be read out over Fieldbus communication.
Both mass flow meters can optionally be calibrated for two different gases, the user is able to switch between these two gases. The materials of the parts that come into contact with the medium are selected according to customer specification so that the unit can be operated with the complete range of standard process gases.
